1. As mentioned before, it is not possible to modify the CPU all-core clock speed in XTU on the HP Z workstations and therefor XTU will only displays  6 cores for the 8 core 1680 v2 CPU. Although I don't have a 1660 v2 CPU, I would expect to see even fewer adjustable cores in XTU if that CPU were installed since the 1660 v2 is a 6 core CPU. i.e. XTU may only display 4 cores for the 1660 v2 CPU. Perhaps BambiBoomZ can confirm this as he has a Z420 with the 1660 v2 CPU installed? Again, I don't know if this limitation is due to it being a Xeon CPU or a limitation of the HP workstation motherboard. i.e. XTU might display 8 cores, (and allow more voltage/timing adjustments), for the 1680 v2 CPU if used on an ASUS motherboard but I can't confirm this.


2. Looking at the screenshots you have posted I can see you are running a different version of XTU to myself. I am using version as I found this to be the most stable version of XTU for my 1680 v2/Windows 7 configuration. All I can suggest is you try other versions of XTU to see if an alternative version works better for you. Personally, I found more recent versions of XTU to be unstable on my system.

Will I be able to hit 4Ghz+ on all cores on a E5-1650 V2 in a Z420? I'm kinda confused about all of this
