Solved!
Conectivity Kit does not recognize the HP Prime
01-05-2017 09:45 AM

Hi!
I have a problem conecting my HP Prime to my computer... I tried opening the HP conectivity kit, then pluging the usb with the HP Prime and viceversa but nothing seems to make it detect my calculator. I waited a lot of time but it still isn't showing up in the program.
What can I try?
Thank you, Marina.

Hi, @marinalopzarias :
Welcome, to HP Forum !.
You needed open Port in the Connectivity Kit. You must change to USB, for see your calculator as USB (1).
Have a nice day !.

Hello,
Question 1: What is the current version of your calculator? To find this, press the HELP button on the keyboard. Then, press the "Tree" on screen button in the bottom left. Scroll to the top, and open the "About HP Prime" entry. Please report what it says for "Software Version".
Question 2: Are you on a windows computer or a mac?
If your software is too old, it can't talk to a newer connkit before updating. Depending on what version you report on the calculator I will offer you different next steps. Moving around to different USB ports won't have an impact as has been suggested.

You can install the Mac connectivity kit and do a direct update of your calculator with that. The firmware on your calculator right now supports the mac calculator update method. There should be no need for you to use windows anymore under parallels unless you really want to.
Note that some users have problems using parallels. It seems that the USB is problematic on parallels and it doesn't always connect the calculator while in update mode properly. I'd recommend using the mac version and close parallels so it doesn't grab the USB connection.
