[HP 39gs] Connection to HP Connectivity Kit.
12-19-2018 06:49 AM

I'm trying to connect a HP 39gs to my computer in order to share apps and programs.
I'm using a Mac with OS 10.13.6 in which I'm running Parallels Desktop with a Windows 10 v1803 Virtual Machine. I've been trying to interface the calculator with HP Connectivity Kit Version 2.1 Build 1328 (2005 apparently). I've tried connection with both serial and USB cables. I can make connkit recognize "HPx9G+" when USB cable is connected, but I can't go any further.
Am I in the right way? If so, I'm gonna keep trying. Or should I opt for some other connkit version?
Is there any Mac OS HP Connectivity Kit suitable for this calculator?
Thank you.
Regards,
Ciro.

Hi!, @Ciro_Bruno :
Apparently only run the HP 39GS calculator, with Connectivity Kit, for Windows 10 ... https://www.hpcalc.org/details/8732
Too, see ... https://www.educalc.net/1047482.page
And if needed help ... http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00829737.pdf

That's exactly what I've done before.
I've done it again and got no success again. The sofware versions are the same I had already installed.
Have you tried it yourself or have you just browsed it around?

Hi, @Ciro_Bruño :
I do not have the calculator, but yes, the HP 39GII and it is likely that they are not compatible. at least, so it can be appreciated.
See, from ... ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/39gII/

Hello Maké
I can't manage to download those files and I'm not sure I should keep trying.
They regard HP 39gII, which has been released 5 years after HP 39gs. Does '2013 connkit realy communicate with HP 39gs?
Do you have any better bets?

Hello,
Using serial cable is your best bet here as the USB support for these old models is not working well (if at all) on windows 10.
If you want to use USB, I suggest running some older OS (like XP 32 bit) on your virtual machine.
The con kit for the Gs and the g+ are the same (in substance) if my memory serves me well...
Good luck.
Cyrille
