HP Recommended
HP 50g

Hi There

I would like to know the right way of writting the formula  using HP 50g to get the following answer:

z=d(0.5+sq.root 0.25-k/0.9)

where d=675

k=0.049

and the right answer =635.9

but  i am  getting lesser than that when i programme this calculator.

Hi!, @xulumusa:

Right Shift +7 (NUM.SLV).

1.Solve Equation + F6 (OK).

Use the SOLVE EQUATION and see, this images ...

Write the equation and press F6 (OK).

Now, complete the values of variables d and k

Go bar with upper arrow to z

Now, press Solve.

Note: The images are more than eloquent and don't need any clarification, how to get the result.

Kind Regards !.
Have a nice day !.

If you want that expression to yield a result of 635.9, you must insert a pair of parentheses inside the expression like this:

d*(0.5+sq.root(0.25-k/0.9))

That yields a result of approximately 635.996 which I think is what you want. Your original expression yields a result of 638.25 exactly, which is not what you want.  Also, be sure to be in STD display mode so that no digits are hidden.
