You a most likely to get help at the HP enthusiast forum for classic models. Perhaps someone can assist you there. Classic models are not well supported here as it is really only for current products.
This site is not run by HP, but it will be the place where those most knowledgable about classic models hang out. http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/forum-4.html

I assume you are referring to NAV P8S4 on HPCalc.org
In order to recompile you would need the source code. As the source code is not provided with the program, you will need to contact the original author of the program for this.
There are differences in commands between the HP-48 and the HP-50. The source code would need to modified.
Depending on whether it was written in UserRPL, SystemRPL or Saturn Assembler, the degree of difficulty in updating the source code will differ.
If you obtain the source code, Debug4x would be useful PC based devolopment tool for 50g coding.
