I have the following problem:
my HP Connectivity Kit does not "see" my Prime Calculator which is
connected via the original HP USB cable. The calculator is charging
but can not be detected by the Connectivity Kit.
Asus Zenbook with USB 3.0 under Win10 64bit Build 1809 (with current Jan 19 update)
HP Connectivity Kit 64bit Build 2.1.14181 from 16.10.2018
HP Prime Hardware Version D ; Sofware Version 2.1.14181, OS V2.060.650
What did I do so far:
I connected it on an older Laptop with USB 2.0 plugs with the same softwares and
Win10 version and and everything works fine. So it's not a cable issue.
I am aware of the USB 3.0 problem which is adressed by HP. I followed the instructions there,
like de- and reinstalling the USB 3.0 Root Hub in the device manager.... did not work.
In comparison to the instructions my device manager does not show an unrecognized hardware error.
Everything just looks fine, as if the calculator is not connected at all.
If somebody else has an idea or similar problems, please let me know.....
many thanxx in advance for your help and time....

1) You needed delete (if have any), version previous of Firmware, Virtual Calculator and Connectivity Kit, in your notebook.
2) Install, this three files, from ... ftp:/ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/Prime.
3) For the cable connector, see ... https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03327635
Note : I'm have one notebook HP X360 Convertible 15-br001la, with Operating System Windows 10 Home Single Language 64 bits Version 17763.253 (1809).
Too, installed plus my physical calculator ...

thanxx for your advice.....
I did what you recommended :
> first i deinstalled all previous versions
> then I installed the *.msi versions of the connectivity kit and the virtual calculator.
Indeed the behaviour of the USB changed :
> now, I can see an error in the device manager, that the device could not be recognized.
Again, I did that what is mentioned in your link,: deinstalled,
started the auto detection of Windows (plug & play), reinstalled....but still it doesn't recognize this USB device
> saying it has no device description...... of course also rebooting etc didn't help
do you have any other idea?
thanxx for your help so far...

Thanxx, I will do that.....
But a few questions beforehand:
a) is there an order of installation relevant?
> like 1st the connectivity kit and 2nd the virtual calculator or reverse....
b) just to keep it simple, because the virtual calc works fine:
> is the virtual calc really needed to solve my problem?
> ....because I just have problems with the connectivity kit, not with the virtual calc
c) or are there any interdependencies of those 2 programmes regarding my USB problem?
> like the connectivity kit builds upon some code the virtual calc brings along....
>> then I would just focus on the kit and the connection and when that works,
I would install the virtual calculator......
thanxx for your answers in advance

Hi!, @OliverD :
In each version, you must load the three corresponding files (Firmware, Connectivity Kit and Virtual Emulator), no matter the order and uninstall those that correspond to the previous version you were using.

I bought it here:
It is the current G2 model (hardware revision D) which started about Jul 2018
> please refer to wikipedia..... has more memory and a faster CPU

I tried it out, but unfortunately no good news:
with the *.exe files it's the same symptom I started this post with:
> no error message in the device manager at all.....
....in contrast to the *.msi files from your ftp-link....
> do you know what's the difference between those files ?
>> did HP publish different versions of the connectivity kit,
because all of them show the same version 2.1.14181 ?
thanxx for your help......
