Solved!

HP Prime copy and paste from external documents

HP Prime

Is there a way to copy a formula or text from a document (pdf, docx, txt, etc.) to the HP Prime App Notes or Entry Line, in a iPhone or iPad?

Copying to the Emulator on a Mac works pretty well directly, using the normal copy and paste with the trackpad or keyboard, and also trough the Connectivity Kit to a connected calculator.

Thank you, but these are the instructions for the Virtual Calculator on a Windows PC or on a Mac OS (the Emulator), as I wrote in my message I already know how to copy and paste on the Mac.

Instead, in the iOS App, on both the iPhone and the iPad, I cannot paste in the entry line or in a note a formula or a text that I copied from a pdf or other kind of documents.

I have:

- a physical HP Prime rev.D

- a Mac with Connectivity Kit and Emulator installed

- an iPhone and an iPad with the HP Prime Pro app installed.

On the Mac I can copy a formula from a document (pdf or other format) and paste the formula into the Emulator Entry Line or into a Note, or, through the Connectivity Kit, into a Note in the physical HP Prime rev.D

On the iPhone and on the iPad I cannot copy a formula from a document (pdf or other format) and paste the formula into the Entry Line or into a Note.

It is very useful to be able to copy formulas from documents, that's why I am asking.

Sorry, maybe the issue is not clear. Try to copy and paste this formula:

limit(int(1/(x^2),x,2,a),a,+(infinity))

using only a standalone iPhone or iPad, from this post to the Entry Line or to a Note in your iOS HP Prime Pro app.

I cannot do it.

The only way I succeeded is to connect the iPhone or iPad to the Mac with the Connectivity Kit, and copy and paste through the Mac. But I cannot have always the Mac with me, sometimes I have only the phone.

Sorry, it doesn't seem correct to me to advise to use Wolfram Alpha on an HP Forum, but, nevertheless, I don't want to use another application as a workaround, we have plenty of other possibilities or workarounds.

I just would like to use the HP Prime Pro app on the iPhone and the iPad, and to simply copy and paste formulas to these apps, not to other.

Hi!, @FabVir :

IMHO is not illegal use for comparison to Wolfram Alpha.

I hope this helps. OandP-Engine (Technical Advisor).
