I'm having the same problem, last version conectivity Kit won't recognize the calculator, and the version in my disc says I have no firmware updates available, tried everything in that guide about unistalling the usb driver and nothing works, tried in another computer with 2.0 usb and the same happens.

Ok I finally did it!

Put the calculator in manual recovery mode, holding "Symb" and pressing the hole on the back, then the connectivity kit automatically asked for an update in the firmware and recognized the calculator, now the kit shows the calculator and the firmware is the last one (2016 08 29)!

Finally!!

Hi!, @KimNe:

You needed put, in the Connectivity Kit screen, the option USB (all) or, USB (1), but only recognize this, if you have connected the calculator, between Calculator and PC.

Any *really* old calculators wouldn't be recognized. However, once in recovery mode as you discovered it will trigger the update.

In a furture version of the connectivity kit, it will automatically throw really old units into the update mode to avoid this problem. Glad you figured it out and it is working for you now!
