My HP 32SII Scientific calculator problem turning OFF.
01-10-2018 06:14 PM

The calculator works fine except for I cannot turn it off using the appropriate keys. Turns on fine, works fine but in order to shut it off, I have to wait the 10 minutes of non-use time for it to shut off. This calculator is used VERY infrequently, is always kept in it's protective case and is not at all dirty.
This problem just started and I'd like to know what it could be. I've done the re-set procedure to no avail.
Pls help
Thank you

You say that you "cannot turn it off using the appropriate keys" but you didn't tell us what those keys are. For the record, they are supposed to be [shift] [C], using either shift key, and pressing it only once.
Does the [C] key clear X properly? If not, the [C] key is broken. If [C] clears X properly, do the shift keys light up the shift annunciators properly? If not, they are broken. If the [C] key and the shift keys all work correctly, but [shift] [C] doesn't turn off your 32SII (VERY strange indeed), please let us know.
Disclaimer: I don't work for HP. I'm just another HP calculator enthusiast.

Nothing. You posted your reply while I was still writing mine, so I didn't see it until afterwards. I would not have posted my reply if I'd seen yours, of course. Having too many people trying to be helpful is a good problem to have. Thanks for being here. 🙂
