Solved!

Problem Sith HP 50G simplification

HP Recommended
HP 50G
Hi, I recently bought antes HP 50G and I prefer working on algebraic mode and exact mode (I like fractions). The problem is I type 1/3 + 1/3 'enter' and I get 2/3, nice, now I press *2 'enter' and instead of getting 4/3 I get 2*2/3. The same happens with exact numbers and constants, like Pi. 2π 'enter' gives 2π, if I press *2 'enter' I get 2*π*2 instead of 4π. Is there any way for the calculator to simplify this automatically? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

use EVAL(ANS(1)) 'enter'

where ANS is white shift on ENTER key.

Hi,

You're welcome.

However I would like to encourage you to try RPN mode, as that step is simply one key-press of EVAL (in RPN mode it automatically takes the last argument on the stack which is the last answer).
