# Using HP Prime Graphing Calculator and getting the wrong Q1 and Q3

I am running a set of numbers in the App Var1 on the HP calculator, and getting all the same numbers when I compare it to a statistic computer software (mosaiq) EXECPT the Q1 and Q3 values... Do I need to change something in the settings?

As you discovered, there are multiple ways of calculating quartiles, and "there is no universal agreement on selecting the quartile values". That's why various calculators and computer programs will return different results for Q1 and Q3. See the "Computing Methods" section of this Wikipedia article for more details about the various methods used for calculating them:
