# Wrong conversion of complex number

Hi

I have tried to convert a complex number in the style of 100*exp(60 Deg)
Usually they should be converted to something like:

100*(cos(60)+i*sin(60)) = 50+86.6*i

But the Prime converts the expression 100*exp(60 Deg) to -95.24 - 30.48*i
This is a strange behaviour to me.

Do i have to enter the complex number in an other way?
Or is this a software bug?

XCAS is also failing the same way

Ok, problem got solved quickly.

The angle must be in rad instead of degrees.

I have selected degrees in the settings but this doesnt seem to make a difference.

Complex exponentials are not affected by them.

exp(60_deg) would be the way to raise e to the 60-degrees power, but that generates an error because it doesn't make any sense.

If what you're trying to do is convert the vector "100 units at 60 degrees" from polar notation to rectangular notation, just set degree mode and type 100 [angle] 60 Enter, then press the [angle] key again, and you'll see the result shown below. (The angle symbol is keyed by pressing Shift multiply).

Converting from rectangular to polar can also be done the same way.
