Hi All,

Hope you can help!

Model - HP Zbook 15 G5

OS - Windows 10 Pro 1809 x64

Downloaded the HP Zbook 15 G5 SCCM Driver Pack (SP95547.exe) and imported into our SCCM Environment

All drivers apply ok apart from "Intel(R) Smart Sound Technology (Intel(R) SST) OED"

Driver Version - 10.23.0.2214

Driver Date - 18/12/2018

Driver Status - This device cannot start (code 10)

FW did not sent FW Ready Notification

The device currently has "no sound"

Thanks

Matt

Studio seems to suffer from various issues. We have the exact same issue when deploying this via SCCM on:

HP zBook G5 Studio

Windows 10 x64 1803

The only difference in my setup is that I don't inject the drivers like you do, I install the softpaq during OSD. This proves that the issue is not related to Windows 10 build (1803 vs 1809) as well as the method of import.

Since we also OSD zBook G5 (not the Studio one) and they have no issues, this problem is only with this model.

I checked on the driver versions provided by the Conexant driver found on HP Website for the audio card.

As seen below, the Conexant driver has two different versions included and I don't know how the installer handles it.

Hi Matt,

I have seen this issue on EliteBook 840 G6 but not on EliteBook 830 G6. The solution for us was to update the BIOS to 01.02.01 (SP99214). It also fixed an issue we had on our 830 G6s where ME firmware was corrupt.

Unfortunately SP99214 is not yet in the HP SCUP catalog.

Best

Lars

Hi Lars

I updated the BIOS to 01.02.01 on the Elite Book 840 G6 and then installed the drivers using SSM in the OSD Task Sequence after the OS installation. still no sound! any ideas lol

Intel Smart Technology OED - Device could not start - Code

How do you apply drivers for HP in your task sequence?

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

I use DISM to install the drivers in the latest G6 driver packages (dated 2019.02). Drivers are installed as part of the OS (1903) and BIOS is installed afterwards

Hi Lars

I am currently testing a build using DISM to inject drivers. i downloaded the HP Elitebook 840 G6 driver package, extracted contents to sccm source create a normal package with no program and then added a "run command line"  step to run the DISM command. i have placed the run command line step after the OS install and before the SCCM Client installation

DISM Command - DISM.exe /Image:%OSPart%\ /Add-Driver /Driver:.\ /Recurse

Error Codes - 2 50

I recieve a task sequence error - 0x00000000 ??

Where are you using DISM in your TS? are you enabling continue on error?

Thanks

Matt

ok managed to get the drivers to apply using DISM

still no sound!!!!!!! someone shoot me (all other drivers are fine)

I had the sound not working issue with the audio device warning/error  "FW did not sent FW Ready Notification" too.

After lots of stuffing around what ended up fixing it for me was enabling Intel AMT/ME in the firmware.
