Hello,
The "offline" mode of the new version of HPIA (4.5.8.1) always requires read-write access to the driver repository.
This is a significant security issue, a malicious user may introduce corrupted drivers.
Here is an extract from the "HP Image Assistant.log" log file with only read-only access:

05.15.2020 07:01:39 -- Connecting to HP.com...
05.15.2020 07:01:39 -- Exception (Handled): L'acc..s au chemin d'acc..s '\\xxxxxxxxx\drivers\_HP_BP2_\.repository\cache\83b2_64_10.0.1903.cab' est refus...
05.15.2020 07:01:39 -- Exception (Handled): L'acc..s au chemin d'acc..s '\\xxxxxxxxx\drivers\_HP_BP2_\.repository\cache\83b2_64_10.0.1903.cab' est refus...
05.15.2020 07:01:39 -- Exiting with exit code: ReferenceFileOpenFailed
05.15.2020 07:01:39 -- Analysis completed
05.15.2020 07:01:39 -- Exiting with exit code: 16384

By giving write rights, everything goes as planned.
The file concerned is never modified, so there is no need to request write access.
Will this problem be resolved soon? The use of HP SSM is also problematic, some drivers do not install, others are installed when they are outdated.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Christian

Hello Christian

which are the options you use with HPimageassistant.exe -offlinemode ............................. ?

bye

Hello,

This is the full command line:

\\xxxxx\drivers\__TOOLS__\HPIA\HPImageAssistant.exe /Operation:Analyze /Action:Install /Category:Drivers /ReportFolder:C:\TEMP\HPIA_LOG /debug /noninteractive /Offlinemode:\\xxxxx\drivers\_HP_BP2_

"xxxxx" is the name of the computer hosting the driver repository.

I have tried some variation with allways the same result.

Thank you!

Hello Christian

I tried to do the same and I confirm that even in my case I see the same behaviour.

Bye
