Elitebook 840 G1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi! I was using HPIA 3.5.26 with my Elitebook 840 G1, it was upgraded to 4.0.12 and now no longer supports my G1. Is there any solution for this, will it eventually support G1? Or is it possible to download older versions like 3.5.26 somewhere? Thankful for any advice.

A few questions.

Are you trying to do an Image Analysis?

What version of Windows are you trying use?  If Windows 10, which build of Windows 10?

I just ran HPIA 4.0.12 and I was able to download drivers using the Download SoftPaq feature.  I have not tested the Image Analysis feature since I am not running on an 840 G1.

Currently, there is not a reference image for the 840 G1 for 1903 (latest version of Windows 10).  This system ended production in 2015.  HPIA traditionally uses a factory image as a baseline when creating a reference image and since this system ended production it will take some additional time to create a reference image.

That being said, you can use HPIA to download the SoftPaqs (Windows 10 1903 included) using the Download SoftPaq feature.  This feature provides you with a list of available SoftPaqs for your platform.  The only drawback is that this feature does not Analyze you current image for missing drivers.  That feature requires a reference image.

Correction.  I just notices that even with Download SoftPaqs there are not a listing for 1903.  Let me do some checking.

An update.

I did some checking on HPIA and the 840 G1.

HPIA supports the 840 G1 if you are using Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows 10 (1607, 1703, 1709, 1803 and 1809).  You will notice that HPIA does not support Windows 10 1903 for the 840 G1 if you wish to Analyze the image.  The last Windows 10 version supported for the 840 G1 is 1809.

Here is a link that will help explain the Windows versions support by HPIA.

Here is a link to explain the OS versions supported by various HP Platforms.

In this document you will see that HP does not support Windows 10 1903 on the 840 G1.  It supports Windows 10 up to 1809 for this platform.

Additionally, in this document you will find a link to Microsoft which explains the lifecycle support for Windows 10 OS versions.

I hope this helps clarify which versions of Windows 10 are supported for the 840 G1.
