SDM doesn't recognize already installed drivers

I downloaded and installed SDM and it works fine except it doesn't recognize/know that I have the majority of drivers and updates already installed and it thinks I don't have anything installed. Is there any way to make it detect already installed drivers, please?

Re: SDM doesn't recognize already installed drivers

SDM relies on SSM-compliance to detect the version of SoftPaqs already installed. Needless to say, if there are errors in the CVA file regarding SSM-compliance then SDM might not work properly.

Please send the SDM Support Team an SDM log file from the session after SDM finishes initialization and they can confirm this.

Having said that, installing a newer SoftPaq on top of an older version of the same SoftPaq might fix the problem for future versions of that SoftPaq, so you could try installing the SoftPaq wtih SDM or manually. Please read this post /t5/HP-SoftPaq-Download-Manager/FAQ-19-How-do-I-perform-a-SoftPaq-manual-installation-in-Update/td-p... to learn how to install a SoftPaq manually.

To report problems with individual SoftPaq SSM-compliance, please contact HP Support at
