Hi @mohmedali,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips!  I Understand you are having issues performing Windows update on your computer.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

What exactly seems to be the issue?

Are you installing the updates via the HP Support Assistant or Windows update?

Could you provide me with the exact model of the PC? Use this link to find it:  https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03754824  (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Could you also provide me with the Operating system installed on the PC?

Have you tried to run any test on the computer?

Perform a Hard reset on the PC

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

If it's the HP Support Assistant: Click here to troubleshoot it

If it's the windows automatic updates via Windows 10, try the below steps:

Please run the  > Windows Update troubleshooter <  and see if it fixes the issue:
1. Click on the Start button

2. begin typing  troubleshoot

and press the ENTER key.
3. Click View All.
4. Click Windows Update, Advanced in the next window and Next.
5. Click Advanced, then Run as an Administrator, check the box before Apply repairs automatically and click Next.
6. Click the Close button to finish troubleshooting or View detailed information to see more information about the results.

For more detailed steps, please follow all the steps suggested in the support document for - HP PCs - Updating Drivers and Software with Windows Update (Windows 10, 😎

Provide details of anything not fixed, along with the error code that should occur if the update fails,

Keep me posted,

If I have answered your queries, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" button for my efforts to help you.

Have a great day!
