On Expert Day, GabrielR came to the forum seeking help in this post.  He has a relatively new notebook, and he'd been experiencing slowness.  He had already determined that he had no viruses, and he'd done a clean install of Windows 7, but the slowness continued.

Finally he installed hard disk analyzer software, and he learned that the disk was not "healthy."  He had done all of the work already, and he posted all of the details, including several screenshots of the health reports, but he was looking for verification that he truly did need a new hard drive.

top20_2011-09-30.jpgOne of our top contributors, DavidPK, gave him the unfortunate news, that YES, it would be a good idea to replace the hard drive.  Luckily, because GabrielR was so on top of things, it shouldn't be a problem for him to get his important files backed up.  Thank you, GabrielR, for sharing your question, and DavidPK for lending your expertise.

Next up... it's time to announce the Top 20 Posters of the week.  Keep in mind that this includes Expert Day last week.  In first, we've got...dun dun dun... DavidPK!  It's a two-fer this week - post of the week AND #1 poster.  Great job, David.  Next we've got Mumbodog and Bob_Headrick, with 173 and 169 posts respectively.

Thank you to everyone who lended a hand to help another member in need this week.  And thank you to the hundreds of HP employees and other experts who really stepped it up during Expert Day.  It really was a phenomenal event with MANY questions answered! The next Expert Day will take place in January - details coming soon!
