HP 25es Monitor
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I purchased an HP 25es monitor to use with my Macbook Pro; I connected it with the right cables but I can't seem to get the montiore to work? It has power and it is turning on but I get the following message:

Input Signal not found

Check the video cable and video source

Can anyone tell me if they are compatiable or what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you.

The HP monitor is somewhat like a tuner on a TV -- you have to select an "active" TV channel, to get a picture. :generic:

Similarly, on the HP monitor, use the OSD (On Screen Display) buttons on the edge of the monitor to select from the various "sources" on the monitor, such as VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, HDMI, S-Video.   One of those inputs is connected to the output from your computer.
