HP PAVILION OVERHEATING - UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD BIOS FILE SP66880.EXE

HP Recommended

My HP Pavilion g7-2340dx started overheating after the Windows 10 update.  It was suggested to me in one of your forum threads to update the bios. (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Pavilion-g7-Laptop-Computer-Over...

My bios version is currently F26 and found out on the document below that there is an F29 bios version update:

http://support.hp.com/de-de/document/c04396211

However, when I click on the download link, I get an error:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp66501-67000/sp66880.exe

I called your tech support and I was told that I needed to pay $59.99 to have a technician give me the download link. Ludicrous!

I hope the forum can solve my issue without taking advantage of out of warranty customers.

Of course. What's your point? If it's about Windows 10 not mentioned, it doesn't matter.  Suppose I want to fix the  BIOS security vulnerability affecting EDK2 UEFI firmware.  I will do a factory reset to windows 8.0 and then want to download the bios update. I still won't be able to do it!!!
