Unable to find a way to cancel my subscription to HP SmartFriend. Phone numbers get me to phone trees or long waiting times and no real people. I don't see any options to control my account. I guess I could cancel my HP account altogether and cancel my credit cards to get away from HP automatic payments (which I thought I could cancel at some point -- apparently that is not true) -- that seems to be a burden. Anyone been successful at cancelling an HP SmartFriend subscription?? Thanks.

Hi @Particle9,
I'd like to help!
I understand you are unable to cancel HP Smart Friend.
As we do not have an option to cancel the service, I recommend you reach the HP Phone Support team.
Follow the instructions below to reach them:
1) Click on this link - https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6)Fill the web-form and proceed further.
If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
Have a great day!

I paid for the subscription using my credit card. Once I found out it is a useless (not as described) service, I spoke to my credit card company and canceled the payment and future subscription fee. However, you must still email HP and cancel the agreement. I tried to contact HP before speaking to my bank but no reply from HP so far. Hope that is helpful. I also posted a question (no response yet) in this community before I contacted credit card company.
