I registered to these forums today but I have been unable to post anything. Do I have to authenticate my account by clicking on some link in a confirmation e-mail? I have not seen any new e-mails in my inbox. I registered using Gmail. Does it matter which e-mail provider I use? And who can help me with this, and how can I get a new confirmation e-mail?
Edit:
Okay... so I was able to post my first message here. Then why did I see a message that said something about "authenticated account" or similar when I tried to start a new topic in the printer troubleshooting forum? Perhaps this particular forum right here (forum feedback) is excluded from the "authenticated account" requirement so that people can post here for help with registrations? Why else would I see these double standards?

So I should have received a confirmation e-mail then?
I normally use Outlook to read Gmail over POP on my desktop, but just to be sure it didn't go to the spam folder I visited Gmail on the web but I could not find any new messages from HP. The latest e-mail is from Gmail Team - "Welcome to the new Gmail inbox" - and that's not it.
I have not changed my e-mail address if that's what you mean?... and I have typed my e-mail address correctly, in case that's what you mean. But I have not received any new e-mail from HP.
Are you saying that you have authenticated my account now?

Yes, it is required. The reason is that it is one of the security steps to prevent spamming attacks.
I am a volunteer forum member. If my suggestion helped you solve your issue, help others by marking that post as the accepted solution. Say thanks by clicking on the Yes button next to the "was this reply helpful?"
