Going to HP Technical Support Page for (say) HP Pavilion dv7-6103ea or dv7-6c01ea. Search for drivers. You are only now given the option to order recovery media. The original downloads have all disappeared.

Also, although the dv7-6c01ea was shipped with Windows 8, the drop down menu to 'select your operating system' only allows Windows 7 to be selected!!!

Please can you fix this. Thanks.

Hi,

Download and install the HP Support Assistant if it was not preinstalled with your PC and not available on the Start screen:

Once the software installed, follow the steps below to get the latest drivers through the HP Support Assistant interface and check if that helps:

It is working now and I have changed nothing so must have been a system glitch at your end? Before I contacted you, I checked with a friend who was at a different location and they couldn't download either. All seems to be working again now so thanks.

However, the issue that only drivers for Windows 7 for the dv7-6c01a (and not Windows 😎 are available is still an issue and that is a change from a few months ago...

I guess there was some temporary issue with the HP site, the Download section was actually completely missing for me as well just 20 minutes ago but now it shows up again:

Now it seems to work fine and Windows 8 do listed for the dv7-6c01ea and you may access it using this link:
