Weekly Calls From [edited] Supposed to be HP Support

HP Recommended

SAME THING, FROM THE SAME PHONE #, FOR THE LAST 5 MONTHS AT LEAST.

THIS IS CLEARLY A SCAM CALL FROM SOMEWHERE IN INDIA.

How do they get the client base from HP i have no idea.

I had called HP for a technical problem about a year ago, paid $100 for the service.

And since then, they call me weekly to offer me my money back if i followed their instruction!!!

They even knew that my laptop hadn't been replaced!!!

And they said they would send me a new one.

Sure enough, this sounded too good to be true.

But if you ask me, HP has a leak that gives away client info to this scam operation they got going in India!!!

@fabdayan

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.

I work on behalf of HP.

Check the monthly statement from your credit-card provider.  Does it state "HP", or something else?

Other people on this forum have made a similar speculation about a "leak" within HP.

But, if you did an online search for "HP Support", to find a telephone-number, the telephone-number that you called could have been a "scammer".
