My notebook is currently running on windows 10(upgraded from windows 8). Due to some problems, I was advised to do a system recovery. So, I wanted to know what are the things that can get deleted while doing this. Also, would it revert back to windows 8?

Hi,

Well, that is your choice. Normally I back up my data / files only. On many machines, I don't store my data/files on them, I keep my data /files (including photos, videos ... ) on my NAS.

Regards.

You have a few recovery options built into Windows 10, but the one that allows you to keep your files is the best option.

Anything that you personally have created will be kept. (Documents, pictures, et al.)

However, all applications will need to be reinstalled.

Using this method will not bring you back to Windows 10, however, the HP Recovery option (F11 option at boot up) that we built in probably will.

Here is a link that shows how to run reset Windows 10 but keep all of your files.
