horribly inefficient

I was on the phone twice for over 45 minutes with 4 different people, just to get my software CD replaced. It was cracked when I pulled it out of the case to install the software for my HP deskjet F4400 series all-in-one. I think that's a little ridiculous. How difficult is it to hear my problem, say OK let's fix it, get my address, and mail me the stupid disc? Apparently too difficult for just ONE person to handle. Not only that but one of the guys I talked to wanted me to give him complete control over my computer so he could "dowload it for me", then got a little bit more then perturbed when I told him I'd rather just have the disc mailed to me. I mean come on! With identity theft running so rampant can you blaime me? I just think it's a little bit more then insane that one simple problem with a simpler solution cost me so much time. I guess I should be happy it only took 2 calls.
