@WyreNut: Thanks for your feedback anyway.

 

i can confirm that once the fault occurs, clearing the cache in the current (Chrome) session does not resolve it; I still have to abandon the session, start a new one and log-in again.

 

I don't want to have to clear all cookies, since some of them are useful.

 

And the problem only seems to happen on the (Consumer) forums; I have never had it occur on the equivalent HP Business Support Forums (which use the same Lithium technology).
