Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I bought a laptop in July with my federal stimulus check. We are senior citizens and wanted a reliable way to communicate with friends and family via Zoom, so we carefully chose this laptop:

HP Pavilion x360 - 15 Convertible PC
$883.04
Ordered from HP
Total cost $883.04
It took a long time to receive it.
I had been using it for about two weeks when my husband and I had a freak accident that ended up with some Vitamin E oil spilling onto the laptop. I had accidentally left the lid loose rather than screwed on and he tripped on something that caused the table to move and spill the bottle. At first, I didn't realize that it had spilled onto the laptop.
I also bought a warranty. We returned the laptop for repair. It was found to be unsalvageable. The most they would offer me was $75 off another laptop.
Does anyone else think that a big company like this might have a department or special fund where they could help two senior citizens living on a fixed income to get a laptop at cost maybe? This continues to break my heart, even after this long, and my husband and I both feel so guilty. I wish I hadn't accidentally inadvertently mindlessly left the bottle of Vitamin E loosely capped, and he feels guilty for tripping!
I realize I won't get many, if any, responses to this rant/complaint, but I had to get it off my chest. I am still upset.
