C309a DVD Printer WILL NOT PRINT!
http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/C309a-DVD-Printer-WILL-NOT-PRINT/td-p/510345
Has anyone tried suing HP for false advertising? I certainly will be after purchasing this abortion of a printer.
**bleep** that sales rep! He told me this C309a would be the perfect printer for my needs. That is, it would print perfectly and directly onto my 100's of DVD's. With ease no less!
Bollox! I knew I should have got him to prove it.
OK, now for my technical issue:
My C309a won't print to CD/DVD. I'm running Win7, have ALL the HP downloads, use HP Essentials to set up the disc for printing and have gone into the printer settings to change preferences. In Essentials I've done exactly the same at the PRINT stage.
I've then opened the CD/DVD tray. I've followed the instructions on the little animation, I've clicked on PRINT and the stupid piece of plastic gives me
CD/DVD TRAY IS OPEN ---- PLEASE CLOSE TRAY TO CONTINUE PRINTING
I've spent hours and hours trying to sort this. I've downloaded God only knows how much software, programs and ruddy updates. So now I'm at the end of my tether. This really is the final option.
Surely, please God, there has to be just one. Single. Solitary person out there in our great big World. Just one who has a Hewlett Packard C309a that really and truthfully, in perfect detail, PRINTS DIRECTLY TO A DVD!!!!!!!!! There has to be one, doesn't there? Otherwise HP wouldn't be allowed to even mention these pieces of rubbish?
The problem is of course, besides the obvious one I've already described here, is that the only consumers who come in to this HP Forum, are those with similar problems as myself and all they'll do is shake their heads, sigh deeply and say knowingly to themselves........... "I know exactly how the poor bugger feels"
Which is sad for me I guess because I guarantee NO ONE from HP will offer a solution to this that a) Works b) Doesn't require me to upgrade my whole system around there crap and c) Is just plain simple.
No, what I will get though are heaps of pop up messages asking me to fill in a form. I'll get pop up requests from HP every single bloody time I turn on my computer asking if I want to do a daily update, even though I specifically checked the NO DAILY UPDATES box during setup.
*sigh* I'm bone weary of all this, I really am, I just want a quiet life and to be able to print with a machine that says 'Printer' on the side of it. Either that HP or give me my money back, plus the cost of extra ink, plus my lost hours and the cost of the valium I'm now taking.
GOD **bleep** YOU HEWLETT PACKARD!!! GOD **bleep** YOU ALL TO HELL!!!!!
(Apologies to Charlton Heston)
Footnote
I had to add this because it's just so funny and typical of HP. Even the daft Spell Checker on here wanted to replace C309a with Acacia BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
