I searched for a message board for Personal Media Drives, but couldn't find one.  So I'll post here.  My SECOND personal media drive has failed me with all my backup -- backups that are not to be found on any other machine.  Like a STUPID person, after the first one failed, I bought a second one, giving HP the benefit of the doubt.  Now my SECOND drive has failed, and I really can't afford to lose this data.  I took it to one computer place, and they said they couldn't recover it. I took it to a second place, and they said it had a failed head stack assembly and could recover my data for $1,950.00.  I called HP support -- India -- and they had the nerve to try and sell me another personal media drive!!! So I wrote an email to the Chairman of the Board, and he kicked it up to the Escalation Department, which had the EXACT SAME STRATEGY as HP India Support: except this time to GIVE me a personal media drive for free.  I told Darrin that I wouldn't have another HP product if he PAID ME to take it.  That these are totally fraudulent products.  He gave me the same line of bull that HP wasn't responsible for loss of data, and I said, "No, no, no, yes they are!"  And he said there was nothing he could do, poor guy, to help me: stuck working for a bad corporation like he was just to feed his family.  Well, I ABSOLUTELY DEMAND that HP give me my data back.  This IS their fault.  I do NOT ACCEPT that there is nothing they can do.  I REJECT their claims of non-responsibility.  I want my data back!

I'm waiting for someone to give me an address to send my personal media drive to so I can get my data back at -- OBVIOUSLY - no charge!  Otherwise, I will do everything I can to discredit the name of HP!  Comprende vous?

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for Hewlett-Packard.
