1700DR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

1700DR Plotter. Goes to sleep, then the only way to get it going again is to pull the plug. Once it is asleep, the start button does nothing. Using Windows 10 on 1 laptop & Windows 7 on the other.

Thanks

George

Does it wake up when you send a print?

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

No. The only way is to pull the plug.

Page 9 and Page 12 in the operator's manual address the sleep function.  If you don't have a manual here's a link:

Also Page 164 talks about reloading the firmware from a clean FAT32 formatted USB key.

Is the printer still under warranty?  If so, I'd get a tech out to look at it.  If not, someone here might be able to talk you through how to safely reload or update the firmware.

It isn't very old. I think less than 2 years. I'm not sure what the warranty is.

Thanks

George
