44" DesignJet z2100 - ink tubes replacement

HP Recommended

Hi

After replacing ink tubes the printer keeps saying 'ink cartridge faulty" or "ink empty"

I replaced 3 cartridges so far. All of them were at 40-60%.  I replaced first cartridge and managed to print some photos. After one day it asked me to replace another one .. so I did... and again I did some printing.

Now it is asking me to replace another one (the cartridge is at 88%)

Could you help me please ?

Thank you

Hi,

First update the firmware

Second, access the Diagnostic Menu > IDS test > Check Ink Supplies, replace any inks not good for the purge

If all the supplies are ok to purge.

Connect the printer to the network, access the Embedded Web Server > Support > Service Support > Printer Information > All Pages, check the instalation date and expiration date of all the ink cartridges. What dates do you have there?

Also, are you following the instructions of the service manual?

Best regards

Mike G

Hi

Thank you for your reply

I updated the firmware.  Both IDS tests went fine. All the ink supplies are ok to purge. All cartridges are in warranty

I also replaced 2 printheads due to missing colours

I followed the instruction when I replaced the ink tubes (8-132 service manual)

Any suggestions please ????

Hi,

Did you access the Embedded Web Server > Support > Service Support > Printer Information > All Pages

And look at the ink cartridges expiration dates

Best regards

Mike G

My problem with cartridges has been solved. (I installed all new inks)

I replaced the ink supply tubes bacause the yellow ink was not supplied to the M-Y printhead. After the replacement I installed 4 new printheads and all new inks. The printer has been working fine for 2 weeks and now again it stopped printing yellow.

Please help me.

The tubes supply the ink from the ink supply station to the carriage and printheads. Perhaps your issue was the ink supply station all along. The yellow is supplied by the left ink supply station.

Hi

Thank you for your reply

Is there any way I could find out if the left ISS is causing the issue ?

In the diagnostics menu go to the IDS menu and then scroll to ink delivery system and select and perform the tests.
