I get error message 86.01. Restarted machine repeatedly with same message. Any idea what could be wrong and how to fix it?

Generaly this error is caused when the carriage assembly can not move due to an obstruction or something else. On your model most times the printer should restart and then tell you what is wrong. In other words do not turn off the plotter but leave it on for 5 minutes and see if it turns itself off and back on and gives you a message.

Did you try to move the carriage assembly by hand with the power off. I told you in the post that most times the error refers to a carriage jam which can be caused by many things. Have you done anything lately like maybe replace one of the printehads. If you did you should check the carriage cover to make sure you locked it in place.
