OfficeJetPro 7740
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The auto shutdown feature of my 7740 is not working.  I have it set to shutdown after 4 hours idle and at 9:00 PM every day.  The control panel has the messge 'Scheduled Off Enabled" with the time constantly incrementing 4 hours beyound the current time.  In neither case does the printer shutdown (Power Off).

Since my printer is connected wirelessly to my WiFi router,  it is always 'connected' thus none of the auto shutdown features will work.   HP should provice an option to enable auto shutdown when the printer is connected like this.   You would not want this is a corporate environment, but at home - YES!

@WWolfe01,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.
