When I make a print the black ink is very light. Tryed cleaning  cartridges etc but no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Replace black ink cartridge

It’s a new cartridge.

Replace it with new one. Might be it is expired. Use only genuine ink cartridges for best results.

I would suggest you follow the steps from this document HP DeskJet 2600 Printers - Fixing Poor Print Quality to fix the print quality issue.

 

Additionally, Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates.

Take a look at the settings on your computer in the printer preferences tab for that printer.  You might have it set to "Fast" instead of "Normal" or "Best".

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.
