DJ T1100 prepares ink system for >25min every time even if turn off correctly

Please help me.

I have a plotter T1100 44" with good printheads.

Every time I turn it on, it takes a looot of time preparing ink system (>25min).

Once plotter is online I print some drawings with no problems. Then turn it off using power button in front papel.

If after 1 min I turn it on,  it would go to FSCK and take more than 25 min preparing ink system.

I'd assume it would not need to FSCK and preparing ink system would be very quick. But no,  every time goes to FSCK and takes > 25min with ink system.

What could be happening?

Fsck means the cmos battery has failed.

Ita a C2032 I think.

It's on the formatter card on the left hand side at the back, it's black and has usb and network sockets

Undo the 2 screws and pull it out.

You will the cmos battery.

replacing it will fix the fsck issue.

But slow booting can also be caused by a failing hard drive 

Drives are available is you look. Buy a new one its not clear if the drive pairs to the machine when installing.

The harddrive could be either failing or is filled with temporary data that is not being purged properly. Is there a reason you do not simply allow the device to go into low power mode. Physically powering off the unit is probably triggering a full diagnostics and calibration every time.

Looks good for the fsck part. I'll definitely change the battery. How could I know if battery is failing?  Maybe the date/time does not change if turn off and not connect to computer?

How to "format " to not use bad sectors? Do you know?

Normally I leave it on with a UPS but still some times happens failures on energy supply. It is very annoying, ink consuming and lot of work for the service station. So if I canprevent it, the better.

I have used other plotters same model and does not take so long.

Do you know if there is a way to "format" or reinitialize the hard drive?
