First step is to run a print quality test to make sure that the printheads are in good condition. Banding is usually going to be caused by either bad printheads, paper advance issues or failure to print in high quality mode.

I am having the same with Designjet T770, random purple bands and with Designjet t7100 having Yellow band, i suspect that, there is another printhead with some issue, not the C/M because i have installed a brand new C/M 72 printhead and the random band, persists, right now, i am performing some tests with new printheads of the other collors, (MK/Y and G/PK) and, having no random bands, i will be running more tests on monday, get in touch. Also, i have performed the checkout of trailling cable, carriage board and printhead flat cables, everything is ok.
