HP 1050C+ adjust paper tension to roll

HP Recommended

I've been switching between photo roll paper and bond white paper for a period of time.  Don't know if I deformed the rollers, or streched the spring, but I no longer have adequate tension on thin paper and the paper is slipping as the rollers advance.  Can't find a solution in the service manual.   Is there a way to tighten the rollers to increase tension on the paper?

Not that I know of. There is the backfeed clutch 0n the left side which is responsible for the backfeed tension so maybe it needs to be replaced. I think in the manual it is referred to as the clutch assembly.

David makes a very good point - the clutch is probably the cause.

Its about a 1-hour job and  I guess companies like LPS will have a good part available.

The hardest bit is pulling the left hand side cover off, which can seem very stuck.

Kind regards
