Hi, I have a HP Designjet T520 with an error 41.10.

I ran the paper servo test and it came back with the 41.2.10 error replace paper motor.

I noticed on test that the paper motor seemed to be rotating ok but when the printer is turned on the carriage moves back and forth ok before, on the servo test with the left cover removed I can see the paper motor turning.

I replaced it anyway.

Now when the printer is turned on nothing happens it goes straight into 41.10 error, even after putting the original motor back on.

I checked the MP tray and nothing appears broken. Nothing appears damaged on the right side gear train either.

Anyone had any experience of this error code or issue?

according to the service manual, the order of parts replacement is cables first, then the motor, and if error still presents main PCA.

there are two part numbers listed for this part:

Main PCA Basic – CQ891-67003
Main PCA Pro – CQ890-67023
Not sure which board your particular model would require. Would need exact model number from the serial number plate of your printer to tell you. DO NOT post serial numbers on this site.

Hi, thanks for your input. Yeah I saw that in the manual as well. Cables don't look damaged, when I run the paper servo test the sub code 41.2.10 appears every time, thus why I moved on to the paper motor as the next step.

Main board is an expensive and non returnable part if it doesn't cure the issue.

From past experience once a main board is fitted to these models it can't be fitted to another.

Checked the printer over several times for any damage (could see none), all other diagnostic tests  pass ok.

One thing the client told me is the fault started when they tried to use the MP tray. I checked over the tray and the right side drive gear mechanism and both have no signs of damage.

Booted the printer with the MP tray uninstalled and still get the error, when I run the paper servo test with the MP tray removed I can see the right side drive gears turning with no issue, when the MP tray is inserted during the paper servo test it doesn't feed the paper, thus the 42.2.10 error.
