Hi community,

Hoping to get some thoughts here on a magenta ink printing issue, or lack thereof. During a 50 foot run of posters, the magenta ink faded out, and the print turned from bright red to dull orange.

Initially I thought this was a problem with the printheads, so I swapped both M/LM heads out for new ones. Still the same

Print status plot is "printing" in the magenta area, but it looks identical to the light magenta.

Swapped out a brand new magenta cartridge, and ran a few cleanings. Still the same.

Called a local technician and they seem to think that we have a bad batch of ink (light magenta in the magenta cartridge). Has this ever happened to anyone before?

First off.. You are welcome here.

I am not trying to chase you away.

Having said that, "we" may not be the best ones to ask since most of our focus (and expertise) is in the area of consumer and small business printers, you know - those itty-bitty printers that fit on a desk.  Smiling.

Hi

sometimes when ink cartridge isn't shaken well when inserted, in the tubes is circulating solution - not color itself. That's an option too - defective batch, but to see if the new cartridge is defective or same like LM, tubes must be flushed and load ink from new cartridge (or use about 30-40 ml from magenta - what actually is in the tubes).
