Hard Disk "Boot Failed" Error - Designjet 5500

HP Recommended
Designjet 5500

OK Have a 42" and a 60" 5500 uv.  the 60" keeps showing "Boot failed.  Error: 1f50007"  the power supply works fine when put into the 42" and the drive spins up fine there also.  but when put back into the 60 the green led kicks on goes bright then dims again and will not spin up the drive. what else could cause this ?

There is still a chance your PSU is causing the issue. Alternately, have you tried swapping main logic boards?

hi tim,  yes i did swap mainboard from the 42 also and did the same thing, put original back, same thing.  then was going to supply the 12v prom a seperate supply and see if it would kick it in. well it did it on its own, so not sure what the issue was.   but now i cant get a new hard drive to install firmware.  argh.
