Hp designjet 1050c wont print

HP Recommended
HP designjet 1050c
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have recently bought the HP dj 1050c. I am using windows 7 but i downloaded the windows vista version (driver).
(i have tried the same thing on a windows vista PC and still the same issue)

The printer wont communicate with my PC. the drivers are installed.

Whenever i try to print something nothing happens. I am using a parallel USB cabel. I am trying to make it print from photoshop.

What could i be doing wrong?

The printer is working fine when it comes to test prints but i cant seem to make it print from my PC.

Kind regards Supra1995

The test prints you mentioned, are these the ones in the printer or the one you print from your computer after loading the drivers that has the Windows logo and a read out of all the driver files?

Just wondering if the computer is talking to the printer at all or not.  I don't recall if the 1050C comes with test prints loaded on the printer or not.

Odds are the usb to parallel adapter you are using is not working right. When you plug in the usb adapter at the computer it should say new hardware found and load drivers. You may have another option since many of these plotters came with an eio network card located above the parallel port. If you have the network card, then hardwire with a rg45 cable to your router and switch and then reset the card so it finds an ip address on your network and use that ip address to load the plotter on the computer as a local tcp/ip printer.
