Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a Z5400 Designjet, which holds 2 separate rolls. My 36" roll prints without any issues, but when I use the 42" roll, I get streaking/lines/dragged ink on the left leading corner of the paper. Worse when roll is more than 1/2 way used (perhaps due to curling edge?) but again, this does not happen with the 36" paper. I have tried cleaning the printheads. I have printed the printhead diagnostic page and they seem fine (all replaced less than 6 months ago). I tried switching the location of the rolls, but that does not change the problem. Probably something needs cleaning... but what? Was told by a friend there are air holes that help suction the paper down and keep leading edge flat, and that they sometimes need cleaning, but I can't find anything about this in the manual, nor can I locate them visually inside the printer. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi,

here are some links with User and Service manuals and to troubleshooting pages:

Mostly it's about insufficient vacuum, paper wrincles and printheads are brushing over. For a start try using heavier paper type from front panel when loading paper like - Coated Paper, Heavyweight Coated Paper, Super Heavyweight Plus Matte Paper etc...

Cheers 🙂
