Print Head

Deskjet T120
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My T120 (24" wide format printer) is not working. Having put the new black cartridge an error message have come up.

The black ink has gone everywhere over the bottom tray of the printhead, and the print head mount on the far right hand side. The mount the print head sits on when stationary. 


Does this mean the print head has failed. Should I clean the printhead and mounting base and then reinstate. If so what would I clean the ink of with. Something that doesn't fail the electronics. Or do I just order and new print head. I don't want purchase a new printhead if the whole unit has failed.


The printer is about 4 years old. This is only the 3rd time I have replaced the black cartridge so the printer has not been used a great deal. The cartridge is a genuine HP cartirect. (Cartridge HP711).


What should I do?

i would repalce the printhead. 4 years is a goog run.

the ink in the bottom of the printhead shows a leak in the printhead system
