Reset the printer

  1. Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

  4. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

  5. Wait at least 60 seconds.

  6. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

       NOTE:

HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

  7. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

  8. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

  9. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Remove the ink cartridges

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door.

The carriage moves to the left side of the access area.

  2. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before proceeding.

  3. Push in on the front of one of the ink cartridges to release it, and then pull the ink cartridge toward you to remove it.

Do not use tap water because it might contain contaminants that can damage the printhead.

  2. Lightly dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with bottled or distilled water.

  3. Gently wipe the copper-colored contact on one of the ink cartridges.

HP Officejet 7610.  It was working fine until yesterday.  I had been getting the message occassionally but turning off and then back on let the printer print again.  Beginning yesterday it will only give me the error message.  Cleaning the contacts did not resolve the issue.

Thank you for your response .

I must  add though that the HP scan doctor worked only once for this error.

When the (0x61011bed) error occured afterward, a few days later, the reset / power off  options did not work immediately, we were forced to just leave it alone for a few hours or a day and the printer went back to accepting prints again.

We did change the power source to the wall outlet and I will definitely try the ink removal option and the cleaning  the next time the error occurs.

Again thank you for your feedback!
