T1100
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I've replaced the belt at a T1100. When I switch the printer on after some time showing 0% in diplay a 08:11 error will show up. Then I switch off and on, printer does a file system check and then will boot completely. I've tried twice. First 08:11 then File system check then printer boots without error. I know 08:11 error is a known issue. What's your guess what could possibly be the problem here?

Next problem is that it shows then "Replace print head MK-Y" I've reinserted this printhead twice. Printer accepts it but there is nearly nothing on the printhead alignment testsheet then. It's nearly white. When you print a status page then you only get some pale, colored stripes. It looks not like the satus page being printed incompletely due to faulty printheads. And you see some dried yellow ink around the tube where the printhead is inserted and there was a yellow bump on the nozzles of this printhead. The printheads are not too old. They are in warranty till October 2022.

Printer plots only black and white plans usually and had been printing a plan when the belt jumped off.

I guees the 08:11 issue occurd even before I replaced the belt. But printer is always switched on and nearly never gets switched off.

What could I have done wrong. I Reseated the formatter board twice.

Thank you.

8.11 could be a few things

First replace the cmos battery that will stop the fsck after you boot in future, though itcwill do it one mors time.

The printheads have failed. They should be replaced.

The random 8.11 could be a few things.

I've had it with a bad earth on the mains lead, a flakey disk, failing formatter, or main board.

If it continues to be unreliable replace the disk

Hope this helps

I would change the battery first.  Cheapest and easiest thing to do.

Printheads sound like they need replacing.  Remember that when making black the printer also uses yellow and other colors to make the black deeper when printed.

Do you have a Service Manual?  It shows a list of problems that can be diagnosed using the LED's on the formatter.  If you don't have one, check with LPS Computers (https://www.lpscomputer.com/).  They have free downloads for legacy printers like these.  Great source for parts, new and used.

I don't work for HP....I just repair their printers.

According to HP service notes this can be caused by a control panel cable not being seated fully in the control panel and that is the first thing  you should check.

Probably, your formatter or hard drive failed.  Comes as a set,

Thank you all so much!

The battery on formatter board caused  the 08:11 problem. Battery even has rusty spots. Haha!

Inserted a newer one from a used T795 which still has 3V and error is gone.

I inserted 3 quite new used printheads from another T1100 waited for about 45 minutes for the printer to execute print head replacement and voilá printer just works fine.
