T120 Printer light bands in printout

HP Recommended
T120 inkJet Large Format Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

1. Print full D size drawing using roll paper (bond paper) that is a solid color (say black) with nothing else.  HP ink.

2. Instead of solid black there are alternating bands of black.  There are two color saturation levels.  Not much difference but easily seen.

3. The bands are horizontal, i.e., running in the direction of the 24 inch printer width.

4. The banks alternate (light - dark) from page top to bottom.  Always the same width of 3/4 inch (approx).

5. The dark bands are fully saturated with no variation.

6. The lighter bands  of constant (more or less) saturation) seem uniform.

7. Not a problem in line drawings; however, if there happens to be an image included in the drawing the bands are visible.

8. Normal cleaning not effective.

Any thoughts?

Are you printing in high quality mode or draft. Also, if your device has paper advance calibration that can make a difference.
