Hi, I am having a terrible time finding answers for my problem, I hope someone in the forum can help.

My hp t730 stopped cutting paper; it happened after the las portion of the paper roll went through the plot area, this end of the paper is, unfortunately, folded in such a way that paper tends to get stuck in the print area of the plotter.

I tries several things: shutting it down for a long period of time, resetting the media type, changing paper size. none of these measures helped, the cutter still does not disengage to cut paper.

thank you

Likely the cutter has failed. Not an uncommon issue on this series. You can test by trying to manually move the cutter. If it is not smooth then a gear has cracked inside and replacement is the only fix. Part number CQ890-67108

We have a number of T730's with the cracked gear problem.  I've seen both nylon and copper replacement gears.  Does anyone have  a good source for them?  I am also willing to order replacement cutters if the cracked gear problem has been resolved so it doesn't happen again.

I have never actually looked into 3rd party gears as the cutters are reasonable price and it takes only minutes to change

Thanks.  Hopefully, they have resolved the gear problem and the supply chain contains updated cutters.
