z2100 44"
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

After it printed several inches, the image began to shift to the left, please see attached image. The printer will keep printing, but when it finished, there is an error code 21:13. If I print borderless, it prints ok.

I have tried to take out the service station and cleaned it, after that it print ok. But after several days, the printed image start to shift to left again, and when it finish printing, the error code 21:13 appear.shift.jpg

It is possible that the line sensor is not properly finding the edge of the paper or the Service Station.

You can run a Line Sensor calibration through the service menu.

Good Luck,

Saw your post few days ago & still no answer.

21:13 error related with service station... you should open the right cover & see inside, make sure no paper or something else . manually rotate the white wheel to the front & make sure movements free. if it stuck or too tight, something else wrong with the movement.

Check your paper setting and make sure match your paper size to your print image size, keep about a inch for margin.

Portrait or landscape

Just 5 screws.. one to the front.. one to the left, one under the ink cover & 2 behind. T15 ?   screw driver.

Thanks for your help! But this maybe not the case, I have opened the service station, and checked the motor and the three white gears inside, they can move freely. The problem is everytime when I print borderless, it prints OK. But when I print with border, the print will shift to the left side after several inches, then the printer will keep printing and give the error code when the job is done.

I never seen the HP Designjet printers print borderless & I certainly hope so.

But we must keep some space for margin.

I used the Epson 13" wide format print many years ago & printed  borderless photos & very nice.

I don't know how about other designjet printers, but the z2100 dose can print borderless.

Hi Roy, thanks so much for your advice! I never thought the line sensor will cause this problem, I did a line sensor calibration, and it prints OK now. Thanks again for your help!
