I have the same issue, it’s happening on tray 1 so I switched tray 1 roll with tray 2 roll and tray 1 started to work but now it’s doing it on tray 2 so I thought it was the roll itself. So I swapped the roll with a new roll and still get skewing message. Cleaned encoder strip and still skewing. Only thing I can think of is the software.

Most likely the line sensor is dirty, this is different than the encoder strip. The line sensor is mounted on the carriage on the left hand side. This is the sensor that detects page sides and leading edge so I would check that first. Hard to see but I would use a moist q-tip to clean it.

the problem is within the carriage sensor/eye not being able to read paper loaded because of residue left from ink. You have to remove the sensor/eye from the right side of the carriage it is 2 screws and should be very easy to do and accessible even with the carriage docked. I wouldn't recommend using a q tip as it is quite deep inside. It worked for me thank you guys.
